The Royal Institute of Philosophy held a series of lectures, from a selection of speakers in London. Past & Present is a companion publication that contains transcripts of the lectures, biographies of the speakers, and other features to act as a summary of the lecture series.
The essence of philosophy is the attempt to find clarity; though it is rarely found, the attempt in itself produces a kind of clarity. This is illustrated liberal white space, and a slow pace of the text.
The use of Hoefler, and an exclusively monochrome palette gives a sense of prestige and academia. While the irregular 5‐column‐grid lends itself to such a wide selection of information.
